Appointed Three fundraising roles with Whizz Kidz

Whizz Kidz is transforming. QuarterFive are delighted to be partnering with Whizz Kidz to appoint three pivotal roles that will develop and shape the ideas, vision and work of their fundraising team:

Head of Trusts and Foundations, £55,000 – £60,000

Head of Partnerships, £55,000 – £60,000

Special Events and Philanthropy Manager, £38,000 – £40,000

More than 75,000 young people need a wheelchair to be mobile, yet most have no access to a wheelchair that’s right for them, leaving them at risk of social isolation, poor mental health, and physical injury. Whizz Kidz’ empowers them to enjoy opportunities and activities that so many others take for granted ‐ at home, school, work, and beyond.

Their new Director of Fundraising and Communications, Rachel Backshall, has been in post for eleven months and identified significant opportunities, prompting investment in and recent growth of the fundraising and communications department. There is tremendous energy, momentum and drive in the team, with clear growth potential and ambitious plans to increase income that enables more young wheelchair users to live independent lives.

In collaboration with the Kidz Board, a group of young wheelchair users each representing a different area of the UK, Whizz Kidz has recently launched a bold new brand that focuses on accessibility and inclusivity, and a website that places their beneficiaries at the heart of visuals and messaging. This is a truly exciting, transformative period that will further scale Whizz Kidz’ empowerment of young wheelchair users and raise awareness of their cause.

Whizz Kidz is a disability equality charity dedicated to creating a team that is a true reflection of the communities they serve. They actively encourage applications from disabled people, supporting, where possible, requirements for reasonable adjustments.

Introduction from the Director of Fundraising & Communications

Thank you for taking an interest in working for Whizz Kidz. Our vision is a society in which every young wheelchair user is mobile, enabled and included – to do this we need to raise money to give every young wheelchair user between the ages of 0 to 25 the right wheelchair for them, access to all the same opportunities and the confidence to go after everything they want from life – just the same as every young person.

We are mostly a relatively new fundraising and marcomms team that is full of drive and enthusiasm to take Whizz Kidz to the next level, and these roles are pivotal in achieving that. We would love you to join us and help make a difference to young wheelchair users everywhere.
