About the charity/role
I am delighted to be supporting this fantastic international charity with their search for a new Strategic Funding Lead to join their highly successful institutional funding team.
This role will be the European foundations lead. This is a new role which will be the first to focus just on this area, although the existing pipeline is strong.
The Strategic Funding Lead will manage an existing partnership with one major corporate foundation which is worth £4m over four years, and to see to the end another partnership coming to the end of its five-year agreement.
There are more opportunities for funding within these specific foundations, as well as a decent pipeline of other relationships with European funders. It is sensible to expect around £4m income – either three or four c.£1m grants, or one large £3-4m win – each year in this post.
We are looking for someone who really understands the European foundation landscape, who is able to pick up what’s already there, but also to advise on what best to do next.
The Strategic Funding Lead will own this area and be responsible for its success and growth. We would be looking for someone who’s worked on successful seven-figure bids before and has good knowledge of European foundations, and what would be the best ROI for putting their time into.
This charity has a flexible working environment; even before the pandemic most people worked two days from home. They will also consider a four-day working week.
