Interviewing Senior Membership Development Officer (12-month FTC)

The Association of Charitable Foundations (ACF) is the leading membership association for foundations and independent grant-makers in the UK. They strengthen trusts and foundations so they can rise to the challenges of our times.

ACF’s vision is diverse, vibrant and effective foundations, working together for social good. Specifically, members of the ACF may include:

  • Independent charitable foundations established by individuals or families with a philanthropic mission
  • Corporate foundations created by companies to support charitable causes and community development initiatives
  • Community foundations serving specific geographic areas and supporting local charitable projects and organizations
  • Trusts and endowed funds established for charitable purposes

The Senior membership development officer will support the delivery of the ACF membership recruitment plan and big goal to grow ACF’s membership by 100 members by 2027. The current membership number is 457 (Dec 2023).

Working in collaboration with the Head of Membership, Director of Membership and other team members this role is integral to growing ACF’s membership. The role will effectively support and implement strategies to achieve targeted and sustainable long-term membership growth.

About the role

As Senior Membership Development Officer, you will: 

  • Proactively approach new potential members and promote membership
  • Identify potential members utilising external sources and existing internal data
  • Draft copy for digital marketing channels
  • Develop other activities to promote and grow membership

About you

Ideal skills and experience:

  • Experience of membership recruitment or sales/fundraising
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a range of stakeholders
  • Experience of drafting marketing or sales materials
  • Passion and commitment to work for ACF
