About the organisation/role

We are seeking a highly motivated Major Donor Fundraiser to join a successful team and work alongside the Senior Philanthropy Manager (Major Donors) and the Head of Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships to develop and implement an effective major donor fundraising strategy.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building key relationships with prospective major donors, securing five-figure funding individually, and managing ongoing relationships with major donor sources to maximise their long-term support for the Trust.

Job description

  • Implement a major donor fundraising strategy to maximise and grow income from major donors through research, networking, applications, and excellent stewardship.
  • Build key relationships with prospective major donors and gain five-figure funding individually, in particular multi-year relationships contributing to the high-net-worth team target of £400k.
  • Work alongside the Senior Philanthropy Manager (Major Donors) and the Head of Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships to develop effective major donor fundraising communications, including mailing, events, and other initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the fundraising team to complement their work and ensure a cohesive and effective approach to fundraising.
  • Represent the Trust at external events and meetings as required, promoting its work and seeking opportunities for fundraising.

Person specification

  • Proven experience in major donor fundraising, with a track record of success in securing five-figure donations from high-net-worth individuals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with major donors and other stakeholders.
  • Experience in working with high-value groups, including mailing, event invites, and other initiatives.
  • Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Passionate about philanthropy and the Trust’s cause, with the ability to inspire others and convey the importance of their support.
