About the organisation/role

This national men’s health charity is looking for a new Philanthropy Manager to manage a portfolio of major donors and trusts with the potential to give at a 6- and 7-figure level to the charity.

The pipeline is a mix of existing and new donors, including warm and cold prospects.

The Philanthropy Manager will also manage a giving club, a few members of a brand new development board, and find funding for a brand new organisational appeal due to launch this year.

The Philanthropy Manager doesn’t currently line manage, although there are plans in the works for two new members to join under this person’s leadership.

Job description

  • Deliver an agreed annual target (to be discussed in role but likely c£600-700k)
  • Manage a portfolio of new and existing HNWIs and trusts, some of which give at a £100k+ level
  • Manage the charity’s giving club (around 30 HNWIs giving £10k/annum)
  • Build prospects and make asks around a new scientific organisational appeal

Person specification

  • Experience in major donor, trusts or corporate fundraising
  • Comfortable networking at a senior level (internally and externally)
  • Has an interest in science (most of the big asks are for research projects)
  • Would describe themselves as proactive, go-getting and positive in their approach to work
