Trusts & Foundations Manager

We are looking for someone who is energised by the challenge of growing a village of support to equip families with essentials, link them with key services and help fix the systems that create a poverty trap.

£38,000 to £40,000 per annum (FTE) depending on skills and experience

About the role & organisation

At their heart, Little Village exists to make it as easy as possible for families to help each other. What started as a “baby bank”, collecting and gifting high quality kit to local families experiencing tough times, has become so much more. Their currency is kindness. They know from experience that everyone has times in life when they need help, and times in life when they’re able to offer help.

We are looking for a Trusts & Foundations Manager who is energised by the challenge of growing a village of support to equip families with essentials, link them with key services and help fix the systems that create a poverty trap.

You’ll have expertise in trusts and foundations fundraising with the adaptability to work in a small and relatively new charity.

Little Village has grown rapidly since launching in 2016 – with a broad range of income which includes a 5-year grant from National Lottery Community Fund (until 2024).

Reporting directly to the Head of Fundraising you will have responsibility for researching and engaging new trust and foundation funders, developing strong relationships and writing bespoke, thoughtful funding proposals.

Key responsibilities

As Trusts & Foundations Manager you will:

  • Lead on the development of the charity’s trust and foundation fundraising programme
  • Prospect and apply for six-figure, multi-year bids
  • Manage several high-value grant partnerships (over £100k already secured for 2023 and beyond)
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders and build strong internal and external relationships
  • Continue to improve the high standards of grant/relationship management

Person specification

The role would best suit someone:

  • With strong trust fundraising experience
  • With confidence in developing excellent bids and brilliant funder relationships
  • With the ability to work autonomously
  • Who is creative, relationship focused and proactive
  • With a demonstrable passion for the charity’s mission and values
