They do this by funding world leading research, campaigning for improved care and supporting people to reduce their risk of a potentially life threatening asthma attack.

The charity have developed a strategy with significant digital focus supported by a Board who won the inaugural Charity Governance Award for ‘Embracing Digital’. Their CEO is recognised for Digital and Innovation leadership and they have a Leadership team with a breadth and depth of digital skills.

Over the last 3 years they have invested in digital skills, through recruitment and in-house development with specialisms in content, social media, UX, analytics, product development, paid digital media. Asthma UK’s fundraising team have been trained in self-drive for email marketing, social, analytics and website change with dedicated resource within digital to continue this skill development. Asthma UK has a huge untapped warm audience in the 2 million+ visitors to our eco-system each year.  To put into context the size of the opportunity there are 5.4 million people with asthma translating to 1 in 5 households affected by asthma.

The interim Digital Fundraising Innovation Lead will be responsible for the overall programme set-up, monitoring and reporting for all fundraising customer journey upgrades and digital innovation projects backed by clear metrics and delivery milestones. We are looking for someone who can bring deep knowledge of digital fundraising and analytical rigour to the generation of strong customer centric test and learn plans backed by robust ROI models. You will be an expert problem solver who anticipates barriers, suggests pragmatic solutions and aligns colleagues to keep delivery on track.

About the role

The position will: 

  • Develop overall programme framework to design, test and optimise new digital fundraising models across lottery, regular giving, cash, sporting, community, in mem income streams
  • Provide quarterly assurance to the CE and interim Director of Income Generation that the portfolio of projects are aligned with the agreed overall organisation strategy, budgets and plans and delivering against the programme framework
  • Develop robust ROI models to support new digital methods of fundraising
  • Provide expert digital fundraising support to project sponsors and managers of other projects within the programme portfolio
  • Support and coach individual project managers with current best practice sector thinking and benchmarks on digital fundraising

About you

Ideal skills and experience: 

  • Significant and extensive income generation experience through digital and delivery of substantial income growth across multiple income sources 
  • Strong strategic thinker and commitment to the strategy of Asthma UK
  • Track record of consistently delivering against stretching goals in a fast paced and complex environment 
  • Solid understanding of project management and business modelling methodologies
  • Highly confident in data analysis, modelling and business intelligence; able to effectively communicate complex information to a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Demonstrable experience of supporting, empowering and developing high performance project teams
