This is an extraordinary opportunity to spearhead London Youth’s fundraising efforts at a pivotal moment, backed by the unwavering support of the charity’s CEO and Trustees.

As the Head of Trusts and Foundations, you will lead their impressive trusts, foundations, and statutory income streams, generating over £3 million annually. You’ll be leading the charge in cultivating strong relationships with warm funders, ensuring an impactful stewardship journey that will inspire their continued support. But that’s not all – we need your strategic prowess to identify and engage new partners from a robust pipeline, broadening their reach and securing even greater resources for their vital work.

As the leader of a small, dedicated team, you will have the chance to shape and mould their grants portfolio, leveraging your expertise to develop and win funding for transformative projects. Your ability to rally and mobilise programmes teams will be key as you collaborate to craft compelling and innovative cases for support, ensuring the sustainable growth of projects and covering support costs. About the role

As Head of Trusts and Foundations, you will:

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of high value trusts, foundations and statutory funders, being proactive at building relationships, delivering exceptional stewardship and working through the healthy pipeline of prospects
  • Write compelling funding proposals to engage new donors to give at the 6 and 7-figure level to ensure long term growth and sustainability
  • Work closely with the delivery, programme and membership teams to develop new projects and cases for support, and refine existing projects to meet the emerging needs of beneficiaries
  • Leverage new opportunities through London Youth’s Trustee Board and Fundraising Working Group
  • Deliver excellent cultivation and stewardship with a focus on growing long-term relationships that puts both the vision of London Youth and that of the funder at its heart
  • Provide management and direction for the Trusts team – including two Trust Managers
  • Develop engagement opportunities for prospective and warm funders to bring them closer to London Youth’s mission

About you

The role would best suit someone with:

  • Proven success of developing and growing effective relationships with trusts, foundations and statutory funders with a strong track record of securing 6 and 7-figure gifts. Statutory experience is desirable given the key funders supporting London Youth.
  • Demonstrable experience of developing and implementing fundraising strategies to grow income
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team including setting priorities and goals that are achievable as well as aspirational and inspiring
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, and able to influence/persuade a wide range of stakeholders
  • Proven ability to facilitate cross-team working and forge effective working relationships with services teams
  • Ability to think and act strategically, with an awareness and understanding of trends, legislation and Institute of Fundraising best practice guidance in relation to grant fundraising

Annual Leave – 31 days (26 annual leave and 5 office closure days) p.a. plus 8 bank holiday
