The Charity

Trekstock provides cancer support to a largely unsupported demographic. Young adults in their 20s and 30s, who find themselves not covered by youth cancer charities, but feel too young to be put on a ward with elderly patients.

Trekstock delivers exercise programmes, digital projects and nationwide meetups to help get young adults moving again after cancer puts their lives on hold.

Fundraising at Trekstock so far has been developed by the CEO using personal networks and connections of the board. The organisation is innovative and entrepreneurial, which has allowed bespoke, creative ideas and partnerships to be created.

Trekstock’s list of supporters is impressive, but the charity has reached a point where growth is needed. Enter the Head of Giving, an incredibly exciting new position for this small team, which will allow a senior fundraiser to leverage the success so far and take Trekstock to the next level.


The Head of Giving will be responsible for spearheading a more structured, strategic approach to fundraising, while personally securing high value gifts.

They will oversee a community and events fundraiser and a Yellow Bird coordinator, ensuring they are continually creative and innovative, spot opportunities and grow income sustainably.

The Head of Giving will focus on developing new and existing high value relationships through major donors, corporates and trusts. There is a huge amount of untapped potential to leverage funding through various networks and leads, as well as previous and current supporters.

This funding will support the expansion of Trekstock’s current exercise programme, as well as new physical spaces nationwide and vital healthcare roles within these programmes.  


This role would allow an excellent relationships fundraiser to completely transform Trekstock’s fundraising. There is an opportunity to develop extensive networks with high net worth individuals, set up bespoke and exciting corporate partnerships, and over time build a really successful giving team.

The right person should have: 

  • hands-on experience in one or more of the following income streams: corporate, major donor, community and events, trusts
  • the ability to develop a fundraising-wide strategy
  • the ability to assess previous and current successes and spot opportunities across income streams
  • gravitas and confidence dealing with senior stakeholders and senior volunteers
