We are currently seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Head of Development & Partnerships with a proven track record in new business development and sponsorship management. In this role, you will spearhead the identification, acquisition, and management of income streams from both new and existing client relationships. Given the organisation’s creative ethos, they seek to collaborate with businesses that share their passion for music, including esteemed partners such as EFG, Jazz FM, BBC Radio 3, and Edwardian Hotels.

As the Head of Development & Partnerships, you will have the exciting opportunity to shape and execute their new strategy, aimed at engaging a broader network of partners and amplifying the impact of their work. Drawing on your creativity and resourcefulness, you will generate innovative ideas and translate them into compelling pitches. Successful partnerships will be built with a strong focus on mutual benefits and shared objectives. Effective communication skills are essential, as you will engage with senior stakeholders, deliver persuasive pitches, and secure their support.

About the role

As Head of Development & Partnerships, you will: 

  • Collaborate with the Directors, as part of the leadership team, to create, develop, and implement the Development & Partnerships strategy
  • Take a proactive approach in identifying business development opportunities and building a robust pipeline of prospects
  • Manage a portfolio of client relationships, both existing and new, across a range of projects, including the prestigious EFG London Jazz Festival
  • Generate compelling proposals, applications, presentations, and reports to effectively engage and secure support from partners
  • Lead your team in delivering high-quality hospitality events for sponsors and supporters, ensuring their experience aligns with the organisation’s values
  • Provide management, support, and guidance to the Development & Partnerships Manager, who focuses on securing funding from foreign Governments and embassies for their diverse programmes

About you

Ideal skills and experience: 

  • Demonstrable experience in generating new business development in the 5 and 6-figure range across a variety of sectors
  • A strategic outlook, consistently seeking innovative ways to communicate with existing and potential partners, ensuring they feel connected and engaged with the work they support
  • Exceptional relationship management skills, including negotiation, influencing, effective team communication, and the ability to establish and foster positive working relationships internally and externally
  • Strong communication abilities, with the confidence to pitch to partners and create compelling proposals that resonate with their interests and objectives
  • Leadership skills that empower and inspire your team, setting achievable yet aspirational priorities and goals
