Appointed Head of Corporate Partnerships and New Business

World Vision UK

This is a rare opportunity to lead and develop a relatively new corporate partnerships team, at a critical time of development for the organisation and at a point when private sector fundraising has been highlighted as a key priority.

The recent appointment of Fola Komolafe as CEO for World Vision UK offers some exciting new opportunities – with a continuation of the current organisational strategy and a renewed focus on the power of the private sector to support the delivery of WVUK’s goals.

As Head of Corporate Partnerships & New Business you will play a lead role within corporate fundraising, acting as the main point of contact for a number of key partners whilst also working effectively as part of the Strategic Partnerships leadership team to forge strong internal relationships and identify new opportunities. You will deputise for the Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships as necessary, leading on both internal and external opportunities as needed.

The role and team are currently weighted to new business activity, with significant headroom to grow, and with an opportunity for the postholder to further shape and develop the corporate partnerships strategy and team. With a team target of c.£4m for next year they have already achieved some significant successes from a near standing start (increasing fivefold in just 3 years) and are keen to build further on this, focusing on strategic partnership opportunities that support their key programmes and projects.

World Vision is a complex organisation, an understanding of international development, global partnerships and how to operate in a federated model would be of benefit. World Vision annual reports can be found here. Alongside the day to day activities of corporate partnerships who fund their programmatic work, there is also a need for emergency funding response, with the WVUK team responding to 37 emergencies within the last year. We are seeking a skilled corporate partnerships leader, with a passion for new business and the ability to guide and develop the team to focus on establishing long-term, high value relationships for the organisation.
