Head of Acquisition

International Development

This leading international development charity works to achieve social justice and gender equality, focusing on the world’s most vulnerable communities.

The charity’s acquisition programme has a healthy expenditure budget, in order to maintain their level of donor recruitment and continued innovation. The team is constantly innovating, designing new products, trying new ventures and developing.

Leading a team of four experienced fundraisers (two specialising in digital, two in offline acquisition), you’ll ensure a joined-up approach across all channels. The primary channels are currently TV, face-to-face and digital. You will also be involved in some exciting organisational-wide projects for fundraising and individual giving.

This role calls for a strategic and creative thinker who can bring fresh ideas while maintaining a close eye on operational delivery to ensure the success of all campaigns.

We’re keen to hear from both existing Heads of Acquisition and managers with extensive experience who are ready to step up.

As Head of Acquisition, you will:

  • Lead a team of 4, personally line managing 2 with indirect management of 2

  • Innovate constantly, bringing new ideas to the fore and encouraging your team to do the same
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Supporter Retention and the Deputy Director of Fundraising on cross-organisational projects
  • Develop the supporter acquisition strategy

About you

Ideal skills and experience:

  • Significant experience of large direct marketing multi-channel programmes
  • Experience of delivering innovative and creative aquisition fundraising plans
  • Experience of developing budgets and plans, and monitoring, reporting and reforecasting against multiple lines
  • Experience of leading fundraising teams
  • International development experience desirable but not essential
