We’re partnered with a global youth NGO, their mission is to empower young people and create a positive impact through entrepreneurship programs on a regional and global scale. They collaborate with members to deliver high-impact and effective programs that support young entrepreneurs. As a Development Manager, you will play a vital role in their Development and Programmes Team, leading and supporting network team members, partners, and members to design innovative programs, manage existing partnerships, and expand their partnership portfolio.

When youth-led businesses thrive, they generate employment opportunities, shape local communities, and drive economic growth. They lead a global network of 50 enterprise support organisations, comprising our passionate members, who are dedicated to empowering underserved young people (aged 18-35) in starting, scaling, and sustaining their businesses.

We are currently seeking an experienced Development Manager to work closely with Head of Development and Programmes in a team of four to identify and cultivate funding partnerships with high-value trusts, foundations, bilateral and multilateral institutions. In this role, you will lead the development of programs and partnerships, playing a key role in nurturing innovative global partnerships that align with their strategy and maximise impact.

Job description

  • Conduct research, build networks, and explore potential opportunities and partnerships at five, six and seven figure level to support a team target of £5.2m.
  • Account manage a portfolio of key relationships, ensuring partner engagement and effective delivery of partnerships in coordination with relevant colleagues.
  • Collaborate with the Network Team, members, and partners to lead bid development and design innovative, impactful programs.
  • Support the development of proposals for existing partners, seeking investment and buy-in for new projects within existing programs or for renewals.

Person specification

  • Proven and successful track record in cultivating, designing, bidding for, and securing funding from institutional partners, trusts, foundations and corporates.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a pipeline of new partnership opportunities and maintaining a portfolio of relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of the economic development sector and fundraising for an international NGO focused on economic development.
  • Familiarity with youth development, livelihoods and entrepreneurship, impact investment, circular economy, and sustainability.
