About the charity/role

This national charity (with global links) exists to improve the quality, promotion and prestige of apprenticeships throughout the UK. With less government funding than previously, the organisation has been investing in business development and partnerships with companies.

The Business Development Manager, reporting into the Head of Business Development, will be responsible for securing strategic partnerships with multiple touch-points across the organisation. There are a huge number of ways a company can be involved, including the charity’s annual corporate event, funding research, being a part of a thought leadership council, or sponsoring events. Strategic partnerships, rather than straight event sponsorship, are a focus for the charity moving forwards. This Business Development Manager will focus on professional services, IT and banking.

There are a number of people on the team who are brilliant sales people, so what we are looking for to compliment their skills is someone with experience and knowledge of more multifaceted partnerships, how to add value in non-transactional ways, and drawing up contracts for multi-year agreements. Good written skills to draw up compelling proposals is a must, as is the ability to pitch, present and network effectively.
