The International Crisis Group is an independent, non-governmental organisation committed to preventing and resolving deadly conflict. They analyse wars and peace processes at a global, regional and local level with the ultimate aim of sustainable peace, security and development. Crisis Group is generally recognised as the world’s leading independent source of analysis and advice to governments and intergovernmental bodies like the United Nations, European Union and World Bank, having played a significant role in shaping the debate and outcome of actual/potential conflict across the globe, including Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Europe.
As Associate Director of High Value Relationships you will maintain a portfolio of prospects and donors (including individuals, corporations and family foundations) with the capacity to give up to $50,000.
This role has a key objective of broadening the major gift pipeline, playing a core role in elevating Crisis Group’s existing development efforts. You will grow annual giving at all levels, while increasing participation and membership in Crisis Group’s membership councils.
You will work collaboratively with the team, who are located across London, New York and Brussels, to on-board and steward current and prospective donors with an international presence. A large focus of this role will be on the account management of multinational corporate donors and philanthropists who are International Advisory Council members, giving through their Council Programme.
The Philanthropy Team will soon be working under a new Chief Development Officer with a brand new strategy, developed in conjunction with top-grade fundraising consultants. It’s an exciting time to join the team as they launch their new strategy and use the organisation’s 25th Anniversary in 2020 as a platform to drive fundraising growth, culminating in a high-level Gala in New York in Spring 2021.
As Associate Director of High Value Relationships you will have relevant high value fundraising/partnerships experience, securing significant five- and six- figure donations. Ideally, this experience will be accompanied with expertise in annual giving or memberships.
You will be self-sufficient and entrepreneurial in your approach, with great business acumen and negotiation skills.
You will have a flair for establishing new relationships and the ability to think creatively about strengthening those connections to increase financial support.
