About the charity/role
This university is a great place to fundraise. There are excellent internal and external networks, and an upcoming campaign.
They are collaborative, there is no internal competition, and it is a well-oiled machine in terms of culture and supportive working.
The faculty of science and engineering for which this post fundraises includes applied science such as AI, for which there are plans to build an academy.
There is the opportunity to get big gifts in this role, and for it to be a great step in someone’s career. There are lots of untapped alumni, particularly in the US, China and Singapore, where the postholder would be able to travel to.
The role will focus on major gifts from alumni as well as on trusts and foundations focused on the furthering of science and engineering. The role manages an Officer which will look after smaller applications. Targets are set with the Head Of team collaboratively.
We are looking ideally for someone who has worked in university fundraising before and understands the complexities of institutions, although we will also consider candidates who would be moving from a causal charity who are interested in science, applied science and/or education.
Major donor experience is necessary, and ideally trusts as well.
This is a great first management role. Existing line management experience isn’t necessary.
